American Rendezvous: A Report

Last month we spent three days in Ohio, USA, teaching workshops for the American community who came from far and wide to be there. This was the first time the Yamakasi founders had taught publicly in the States, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the event. American Rendezvous was organised by Columbus-based group Parkour Horizons, who did a fantastic job of bringing it all together. A full and thorough report of the event from the perspective of one of the practitioners attending, Anne Opalko, can now be read on the Girl Parkour website. Well worth a look to get a taste of what was an amazing few days in America.

Womens Jam on Sunday!

A little reminder that the monthly WOMENS JAM will be taking place this weekend: Sunday 13th June @ 1pm (Vauxhall)

We will meet outside the Royal Vauxhall Tavern pub (on Goding St) - its next to the station but from the tube you will have to cross under the underpass to see it...

For those of you that are new to the jams, they are free and relaxed training sessions for women only (though we regularly have a few male/female instructors kicking around for extra tips and advice). They usually last around 3hrs and are a great environment to train and share tips with like-minded ladies and have a laugh in the process! They are not structured classes, but there are always people around for training ideas if you get stuck.

It will be located at the Academy Sports Centre, where we currently hold our Beginner class and Youth Academy. The article says ready by January but all signs are pointing to it being complete well before then...
